The document being requested is a telegram (teletype, twix), received at Roswell Army Air Field on or about 17 July, 1947.
This document was notification for I st. Lt. Shirkey to be transferred to Clark Field, Philippines, as the "Weights and Balance Officer".
The document came from 8th Air Force, Fort Worth Texas, either by order or signature of General Roger Ramey, through the Commanding Officer of Roswell Army Air Field (Col. William Blanchard) or Lt. Col. Payne Jennings, Assist. Base Commander.
I respectfully request you waive any research fees affiliated with fulfilling this request under the Freedom of Information Act.
Since this was a transfer notice for Lt. Shirkey, from Roswell Army Air Field to Clark Field, I would assume it would be part of his personnel file and still available.
